Morgan
From behind the chair to the salon manager, Morgan is your go-to for great product and tool knowledge. Along with managing operations, she is a mom to an 11 year old fashionista that often gets to be the guinea pig for Morgan’s hair ideas since no longer working behind the chair. Morgan is passionate about what she does, a good product or hot tool; if she finds something she loves, she will tell everyone with ears about it!
Colleen
Colleen started Shear Creations 25 years ago. As a one-woman show, she grew the business to an 8 employee salon (and still growing!) . With a zest for life and a bubbly personality, catch Colleen dancing outdoors on her morning walks with her dog, Kaya. This spiritual chick values making her clients feel great inside and out above all other aspects of her work.
Alex
Our “Curly Hair” specialist, Alex is a seasoned hairstylist with over 2 decades of experience in the industry. Her passion for art, beauty and genuine care for individuals has found a perfect outlet as a professional hairstylist. Alex developed a specialty in curly hair over the years having received specific training quite early in her career. She is also a dedicated mother to 2 lovely boys and has 3 sweet dogs, one of whom, Loki, can often be found at the salon, charming clients with his friendly presence.
Sarah
Sarah hails from beautiful Prince Edward island where she attended hair school and spent the first 10 years of her career as a stylist. This fun loving hippy is happiest when out in nature and made the big move to take advantage of the lush and laidback West Coast lifestyle. She loves making people look and feel great with big changes to their hair customized to suit exactly who they are.
Blixa
Blixa is a soft spoken old soul. Growing up with mother who worked as a stylist introduced her to creative colour. She attended the hairdressing program at VIU where she developed a passion for creating visually interesting shapes in hair as well as precision cutting. In her free time she loves getting out into nature, reading and checking out the local metal and punk music scene.
Rena
Rena is known for her warm and loving personality along with giving the worlds’ best hugs! Not to mention, she has the most enviable style and shoe collection! Rena has been a hair stylist for 31 years and recently developed an interest in learning hair Extensions completing a few sets and continues to further her education. Rena’s favourite part of her passion is doing hair colouring of all varieties.
Tania
After graduating from the Esthetics and Makeup artistry program at the renowned Blanche Macdonald Center in Vancouver many years ago, Tania discovered a passion for the health and wellness. This mom of 2, became a certified reflexologist at the Canadian reflexology school of Victoria in 2018. With an eye for detail and a lot of elbow grease, she gives the best pedicures around!
Kim
The Nanaimo medium, Kim Pellerin established her business in 1999 but has had her gift since she was a child. After feeling a pull from the universe to inform people that we aren’t alone in this world and participate in helping others to live their best lives, she started offering her services to the public. She has spent many years developing her gift and learning how to best tailor each appointment to each guests personal needs. When not at the salon, Kim loves decorating & upcycling and spending time with her pet cat.
Megan
After stepping away from her practice of over 20 years as a registered massage therapist to focus on family, Megan is ready to embark on a new journey. With a passion for wellness and some new knowledge, she combines massage, cranial sacral therapy, breath work, PEMF (pulsated electromagnetic field therapy) and red light therapy to holistically rejuvenate her guests. In her down time, Megan loves to travel and enjoys an active lifestyle here on beautiful Vancouver Island.
Xiola
After joining us for her practicum during her time in the Hairdressing program at Vancouver Island University last year, we discovered that she was the perfect fit for our salon family. Xiola values taking the time to make sure that her guests are heard. While she enjoys all aspects of being a stylist, she loves building a genuine connection with each client that sits in her chair. That, combined with her caring nature, creativity and quiet confidence make her a great addition to our team. When she has downtime, she can be found on forest walks with her dog, Olive or cooking up delicious dishes at home.
Juliska
Juliska is fun and charismatic and has been bringing that energy to her career as a stylist for the past 37 years. She knew since the age of 9 that being a hairstylist was in her future. It is her goal to make all of her guests’ beauty shine when they leave the salon, knowing that when we look good on the outside, we feel good on the inside! She loves interior decorating, repurposing furniture and creating a calm and comfortable sanctuary in her home to cozy up and enjoy with her three lovely daughters and two cats
